Spring 2025 Grant - General Arts

Tacoma Adult Strings Camp is an after work educational, 4-week program for adult amateur string players. We lead educational rehearsals staffed with amazing local educators and never require an audition. TASC serves folks who played string instruments in grade school, but then stopped playing or took a long break, we serve adults who started learning their instrument in their adulthood and we fill an essential gap for players who are too busy or too intimidated to commit to a full time community orchestra. Our program is short and sweet by design to allow people to access music education in a way that serves their busy lives and creates joy instead of stress. We work with all local artists and teachers to provide high quality, thorough instruction leading up to a showcase finale concert for family and friends. TASC creates community and friendships and allows people to experience the truly transformational power of being part of the orchestra.
